Ieri, 3 octombrie, am participat la Muzeul de Artă Cluj la vernisajul expoziţiilor “George Banu Nopţile muzeului” şi expoziţia de fotografie semnată de Silviu Purcărete, “Nopţile oraşului”. Vă recomand să treceţi pe la muzeu luna aceasta pentru a vedea o selecţie din lucrările aflate în patrimoniul Muzeului şi selecţionate de către George Banu. Friday Inspiration (4) – Chiria de 0,88 Euro, Fuggerei, Augsburg
De data asta la rubrica Friday inspiration am decis să apelez la un articol scris pe blogul LMUErasmus cât timp am studiat la München anul trecut. Pe parcursul semestrului, fiecare a trebuit să scriem câte un articol, având însă grijă ca tema aleasă de noi să nu mai fi fost atinsă de colegii noştri, sau dacă a fost, să găsim un unghi nou. Eu am scris atunci despre povestea ansamblului de locuinţe sociale cu cea mai mică chirie din lume – Fuggerei. Dragii mei, Vă invit sâmbătă, 16 martie începând cu ora 16 la vernisajul celei de-a treia expoziţii personale de fotografie, Muze(e), care va avea loc la Galeriile Radio, str. Donath 160, Cluj. Expoziţia va rămâne pe simeze până în 16 aprilie.

Project Components
Project Components is a project which combines social media and art. I learned about it while working on my Master’s Thesis on Photography and Social Media. I even ended up using the project as a case study for my paper. While in Munich, I met the project’s mommy, Munich-based photographer Simone Naumann for a coffee. Then I went to her photo exhibition Elements in the Geranienhaus of the Munich Nymphenburg Castle (its story and photos of it are soon to be seen on the blog) and talked about photography. The third time we met, we talked some more about photography and about Project Components, which I am now part of.…

Memories from Munchen Part II – Dachau, where you can only begin to imagine the horrors of the Holocaust
Unfortunately not everything about Germany is wonderful and exciting. On my last days in Munchen I decided I couldn’t leave without visiting the Dachau concentration camp, which lies only 12 km away. The KZ Gedenkstätte is free to visit, you only have to pay for parking (3 EUR per car) and for the audio guide which I totally recommend as it explains a lot more than the different information boards do. The Dachau concentration camp opened on March 22, 1933 after Adolf Hitler has been appointed Reich Chancellor. The camp, which was destined for political prisoners, served as a model for all concentration camps which were opened afterwards. It…

Memories from München Episode I – Tollwood
This is the first article in a series I called “Memories from München”. Tollwood is a yearly summer festival which takes place in the München Olympiapark, the park built especially for the München Olympic Games in 1972. Greetings from Regensburg
Regensburg este un oraş aflat în estul Bavariei şi cel mai bine prezervat oraş medieval din Germania. Din 2006 se află pe lista monumentelor culturale şi face parte din patriomniul UNESCO. Oraşul este împărţit în două de Dunăre, iar podurile peste aceasta mi-au amintit de cele din Praga. Podul de piatră, construit între 1135 şi 1146, este cea mai mare construcţie inginerească din Evul Mediu superior din vest care mai funcţionează şi astăzi conform lui W.Volkert. Cu străzile mici şi aerul de oraş mic, Regensburg emană o oarecare familiaritate şi căldură, care te face să vrei să îl cunoşti mai îndeaproape. Vă invit aşadar la o plimbare prin Regensburg.
